The brief descriptions below are designed to familiarize you with our staff's training, professional credentials and work experience.
Francis C. Lee, MD - Founder and Medical Director
Dr. Lee is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and the American Boards of Dermatology and Pathology in Dermatopathology. He received his dermatological residency training at the University of Chicago following his straight medical internship at Northwestern University Medical Center. He served as a flight surgeon in the republic of Korea Air Force after completing medical school at the Seoul National University College of Medicine.
Dr. Lee is a member of the medical staff of St. Mary's Hospital and Decatur Memorial Hospital. He has been a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology since 1971 and is a member of the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery and Oncology.
An oft-consulted guest of the television and print media, Dr. Lee has also had a teaching relationship with Southern Illinois University School of Medicine for nearly two decades.
Kelly Gaba, PA-C
As The Lee Institute's certified Physician Assistant (PA-C), Kelly works closely with Dr. Francis C. Lee to manage your skin care needs, whether for lesion removal, Botox injections, laser therapy, or general dermatologic examination.
Kelly has spent the last seven and a half years working as a physician assistant in the Emergency Department of Decatur Memorial Hospital. She completed her PA-C studies at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, and graduated from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and Pre-Medical Studies with highest honors.
Kelly has also completed a rigorous dermatology training program with Dr. Lee in advance of her Assistantship and will receive intense dermatologic training on a continuing basis both at the Institute and in other educational settings.
